Perfect Blue (Deluxe Edition with Bonus: All Three United Breaks Guitars Singles)
Released in March of 2008, Perfect Blue is Dave Carroll’s first solo release. It contains 12 original songs, three of which were penned in the US with Nashville writers, Jon Vezner, Steve Fox, Bernie Chiaravalle. The music is an eclectic Pop-Folk mix of songs demonstrating the depth of Dave’s writing and his strong vocal ability. Perfect Blue is a full band recording, using some of Eastern Canada’s finest players, and was tracked and mixed in Halifax and produced by Jamie Robinson and Dave Carroll. The care and quality with all aspects that went into creating Perfect Blue is evident in the strong positive reaction the recording has received in less than a year.

“Woman like you” is a really good song. “Now” is so hauntingly beautiful (and inspirational too). I really like the falsetto.
BTW, you guys did a pretty good cover of “Wake up little Susie”. Will we ever get to hear what you can do with songs by the all-time greats like Holly, Orbison, Diamond or Cohen?

My mother in law sent me a link to “United Breaks Guitars”. I liked it so much that I ordered a copy of “Perfect Blue”. I was not disappointed. I’ve listened to it several times. I’m listening to it now. I really connect with the music. A friend of mine is a pilot for a United regional carrier and nothing surprises him about “United Breaks Guitars”. Thank you.

Dave got my attention with his UBG videos then I read his book. He could have gloated over his triumph over a huge corporation. He didn’t rub it in, but took the opportunity to make it a learning experience for the Airline and others in the realm of customer service. I salute him for that and thank him for his great example. I also like his musical style.

Thank heavens United Airlines damaged Dave Carroll’s guitar, ‘cos if they hadn’t, I wouldn’t have known about Dave’s exceptional talent. I was taken with his rich voice and his flair for composing, and so I looked him up on the Net, and heard some of the songs that are on the Perfect Blue CD. Now I have the CD, and can listen to fourteen songs that tell a range of human stories set in remarkable melodies and sung by Dave in his rich, warm voice. The guitar and band accompaniments are excellent. It’s hard to pick one favorite track, so I’ve picked two: “Now” and “When I Got You”. I’m recommending the CD to friends. I’m sure that we will hear more of Dave.

I think Dave is one of the best song writers in the world. More people should know about him, abput his music. Since we’ve found his music on the Internet, can’t stop listen to it.
And please don’t download his music for free. He deserves to get paid for what he had done!
